Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Cooking Time: 28 minutes
Ingredients
- 2 large Russet potatoes, peeled and cut into 7.5 x 1.25cm strips
- 1 litre cold water
- 2 tablespoons oil (such as vegetable or sunflower)
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
- Tomato ketchup, tomato sauce, or ranch dressing, to serve
Instructions
- Soak the Potatoes:
Cut the potatoes into uniform strips. Place in a bowl and cover with cold water. Soak for 15 minutes. - Drain and Dry:
Drain the potatoes, rinse with fresh cold water, and pat thoroughly dry with kitchen paper. - Preheat Air Fryer:
Select the reheat function on your air fryer, set the temperature to 193°C, and allow it to preheat. - Toss with Oil:
Place the potatoes in a bowl, add the oil, and toss until evenly coated. - Air Fry:
Add the potatoes to the preheated air fryer basket in a single layer (you may need to cook in batches). Select air fry mode, set the timer for 28 minutes, and start cooking. Shake the basket halfway through to ensure even crisping. - Season:
Once the fries are golden and cooked through, remove from the air fryer. Immediately sprinkle over the Cajun seasoning and cayenne pepper, tossing to coat. - Serve:
Serve hot with tomato ketchup, tomato sauce, or ranch dressing.
Notes:
- For extra crispiness, avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket.
- Adjust the amount of cayenne pepper to suit your spice preference.
